A BIT ABOUT DE:
Deirdra Elizabeth Govan is an Interior Designer, Event Designer and Brand Strategist based in New York City. She offers interior architectural design/decoration, brand & identity management, event design, and planning & production services. She has over 10+ years of experience in designing and supervising ground breaking films, television series and producing cutting edge event designs for global luxury fashion and beauty brands.
Her first successful interior design venture in the hospitality industry launched a trend of luxury tea lounges across in NYC and she has since consistently worked on high end conceptual designs residential, restaurants and special events projects. Deirdra begins each project with a hand on approach, from concept to completion.
Prior to founding Equilibrium, Inc, Deirdra was a costume designer, stylist and set designer on films and television series, such as the Emmy award winning Boardwalk Empire, the Big C and also worked as a Marketing Communications Manager in Corporate Branding and Identity for the beauty powerhouse L’Oreal USA.
Deirdra received a Masters in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, which consistently ranks #1 for Graduate Programs for Interior Design by US News & World Report. She also has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Design Management from Parson The New School of Design. Born a with a global soul she has traveled, lived and worked in over 22 countries and lived between France in New York for 7 years, but she lives a perpetual in a New York State of Mind. As newlywed, she happily lives in New York and resides with her with husband, best-friend and soul-mate, all rolled into one. And YES they do exist!
